Sig P210 Target
A shooter friend of mine heard of me looking for a CZ Shadow 2. He said for our Iron Sights match you should look at a Sig P210 Target. That is what you want. So asking around our range I found a shooter that has one and uses it in our Iron Sights match. He won it once a few weeks ago. We have it once a month.
He said the week of March 11th he will bring it in and let me shoot it. He said of all the guns he could afford, that is the one he chose. So I will do that. He said if I like it, he has a collector friend that has a new in the box, never fired, one he will sell me for $1,600. Is that a good price? Maybe if it feels good, I will go for this model Sig instead of the CZ. What do you guys think? I really like your advice. -- Joe --

Re: Sig P210 Target
Depends on where you buy it, as well as which 210 model is purchased. My limited experience with SiG 210s (i.e., mostly reading about them) says this is about MSRP for a US made Target model. Note: From numerous posts on this (and other forums) the 210 trigger as-is is light, and needs additional weight added to be EIC legal.Novak wrote:... Link for some SIG 9 mm pistols (includes several other models other that the 210): https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/handguns/handguns/c/cat-pistols?q=%3Arelevance%3Abrand%3ASig%2BSauer%3ACartridge%3A9mm%2BLuger%3ACapacity%3A8%252B1&text=#

Re: Sig P210 Target
Msrp is 1900 or something astonishing. They go for 1400-1500 with some regularity on gunbroker, and seldom for less than 1200 in any condition.rich.tullo wrote:MSRP
*Unless it is a 6" 'super target', then 1600 is a decent deal, but likely as not its a fixed sight standard model the owner thinks is a target gun.

Re: Sig P210 Target
The collector claims it has a 5" barrel and is called a "Sig Sauer P-210 Target". He also claims you cannot buy this model anywhere for less than $2,000. I have not tried any Gun shops myself, but I will call several tomorrow. He says a new one is next to impossible to find. We will see. I will be able to shoot his buddy's Target on March 18th to see if I like its trigger, grips (I have a small to medium hand) and sights. If I like it, I guess I will buy his new one. This model is supposed to be a very accurate production gun. It was made in the U.S. -- Joe --

I had a usa modern one.a while They are nice but the handfit older ones are just amazing in comparison. They are also 2x-3x the cost.

Re: Sig P210 Target
Have not followed the US made 210 prices, but there is a huge gap - Swiss ones are crazy expensive, US made ones are a later generation, and are a lot less. Dunno about quality differences, Swiss were probably made on decades old milling machines, US are likely made on modern CNC, which have better accuracy and faster throughput, so cheaper and better is not an impossibility.

A quick perusal of Gunbroker shows several around 1400 and up to 2k.

Sig P220 match elite is really good for BE, I don't think they are made anymore.
I paid $1500 for mine during Covid.

Re: Sig P210 Target
I have both the standard and the target models, great pistols. I think the quality is fantastic for the price, slide feels like its on ball bearings. Bought the standard on Guns International for $1,095 and the target from a gentleman on the Sig forum for $1,200 - both are LNIB. So you can do a little better than the prices suggested if you are patient. I rarely buy on Gunbroker now that they collect sales tax and a 1% fee from buyers. You can certainly find one for less than $2k, there is one on Guns International now for $1,585 and I wouldn't call it a great deal - I'd post a link but newbies aren't allowed to apparently.

Re: Sig P210 Target
Thanks Jtod! My shooting friend called me today and told me he is not going to his Sister's this Saturday. Instead he will be attending our 3 Bullseye matches on 3/11/23. He will not only bring his Sig P-210 Target for me to shoot, but also his collector friend's new, in the box, P-210 Target for me to buy for $1,600, if I like it. I think I will go for it. After all, I will not have to do any paperwork, pay any Sales tax, etc. and be able to take my new Sig home with me, after I sight it in.
Thanks guys! I really appreciate these discussions.

Re: Sig P210 Target
Good deal, I'll be surprised if you don't love it
My Target wears Armory Craft grips, I like the shape better than the factory Target grips. My Standard wears grips from Grips4U, I like the palm swells and overall quality. The Grips4U set will fit the Target model but the mag base plate will poke out the bottom because the Target model uses a taller magazine baseplate compared to the Standard pistol. Anyway, something to consider if you like the pistol but aren't keen on the grips.
Armory Craft also makes an optic plate for the Target if you ever want to run a red dot.

Re: Sig P210 Target
Hey Jtod,
What may be a problem is I understand the grips on the P-210 are considered "large". My hands are between small and medium. Does Armory Craft make "medium" size grips? I think "medium" would fit me OK. What size are your hands?

Re: Sig P210 Target
I wear an xl glove so the size isn't an issue, I just didn't love the look or shape. The Armory Craft grips would fit any hand I believe. Here are both of mine, you can see the taller mag base of the Target version, done that way to fit the factory grips. Armory Craft sells different bases as well. I'd have preferred their all black grips but these came with the pistol so I'm not complaining. I don't know why the picture ended up sideways...

Hi Jtod,
Looks good! I think the site will post all photos in the horizontal format. Try taking your photos in this horizontal format.
I left an email in their "contact" form asking if they make grips in a "medium" size. Still waiting to hear from them.
I think I like their black rubber grips best, but I will wait to hear from them first. They look thinner than the others. Besides, I don't have the Sig yet. This Saturday is the day! My .38 Model 14 that I shoot in our Harry Reeves Revolver match has Hogue grips on it and I like them very much.

Re: Sig P210 Target
Jtod and all you guys,
Bought the Sig P-210A-9-TGT. That's the label that was on the end of the box. Yes, it was new in-the-box. Paid $1,600. Grip felt good to me even though I have medium size hands. The trigger weighed 3.4 lbs. on my gauge. The front sight had a hole in it with no color vial. The hole was really tiny. Don't know what to do here. I just used it as a black sight fitting in the square notch of the adjustable rear sight. Works OK like this. Used my pistol rest until it shot in the 10 ring at 9 o'clock. Then I shot one more 9mm with it Bullseye style, standing one-handed, no rest, and that shot went into the X ring at 6 o'clock. Went home. Very pleased with it except for the tiny hole in the front sight. What is that for?

Re: Sig P210 Target
Glad you like it. Sounds like you are missing the fiber optic sight rod, might look in the case and see if it fell out. Believe they are .060 but you should probably confirm with Sig. You could pick a different color if you don't like green since you're replacing it anyway. Forum still won't let me post links but Google "Wilson Combat 583G" to see a replacement rod and install instructions. Search Ebay for "Fiberoptic replacement sight fiber optic rods .060 or .040 6 colors available" for rods at $5.75 shipped.

Re: Sig P210 Target
Hey Jtod,
Thanks for your help. By the way, I fit a number 57 drill bit, which is .043" in diameter through the hole in the front sight. (I am a class A Toolmaker) So it is obvious a .040" green rod is the size to buy. But listen to this. While sighting in my P-210 without any rod in the sight, I seemed to shoot more accurately. After all, I had a square black sight with a tiny hole that let me see the X on the 25 yard target. Yes, I still have 20-20 vision. My Optometrist has told me he is jealous, as he is in his late 40's and said he has never had 20-20 vision and I am 87 tomorrow. And as I said, my last shot shooting 1 handed, standing, went into the X ring, so I stopped right there figuring my gun is sighted in now. And I wanted to leave on a happy note. So I think I will leave it as it is and will remove the rods on all my other guns too.
