SA RO rear sight
I have a Springfield range officer with an adjustable rear sight on it. How much does the bullet move on paper at 25 yards with each click on the rear sight?
I looked through the owners manual and did not find anything about adjustment values. I emailed Springfield and the response I received was ridiculous. Looking for some educated responses from you all.
Thanks,
-Trevor

I am curious what the ridiculous response from SA was.

Me: “how much does 1 click on the RO adjustable rear sight move the point of impact?”
Springfield customer service: “The adjustment will move your shot a fraction of an inch.”
Me: “you didn’t really answer my question. What fraction does it move and at what distance?”
Springfield Customer Service: no response yet

Usually, you would shoot it, note the POI in relation to the POA, adjust it a couple of clicks and shoot it again. Note the change in POI and adjust accordingly to get to where you want to be.
A click is a click...
A click is a click...

The final response from Springfield today was “We do not have a specific measurement, because a turn on that sight is very minimal.”
Unbelievable.

Re: SA RO rear sight
If you were to ask me that question I'd have to give a solid "it depends"
What is your load?
What is your grip like?
Are you built like Len or one of our more delicately built shooters?
Too many variables to get me to commit to a number.
It may be beneficial to put the gun in a Ransom Rest with a laser bore sighter to see what happens in a static state.

.5 windage @ 50 yds
7 “ sight radius
Per bomar (now defunct)

You can always set up a dial indicator to measure the change per click, then apply some trigonometry to calculate the change.
The easiest way to me would be shoot it in 10 click increments and divide it out.

Springfield uses LPAs and not Bomars....Each click is approximately 1 minute (0.25" at 25 yards / 0.5" at 50 yards).

Spursnguns,
Thanks for the info. The sight that came on my RO has “Springfield” stamped on the side. Is this still an LPA?
Thanks,
Trevor
