Xesse Light Hits
On occasion I get light hits on the rim. I changed the firing pin but that didn't help and the chamber is very clean. Could it be that the cases aren't uniform? This happens on several brands of ammo.

Re: Xesse Light Hits
have you done the plunk test with the ammo you're using
if the gun has a few years on it I'd change the recoil spring and check the plastic guide.

The recoil spring is new as well as the magazines. I did the test and did find some cases that needed help chambering. I hope I don't have to go through each box to check.

Re: Xesse Light Hits
Welcome to the club. I changed the slide, recoil spring, firing pin, firing pin spring, and now have the same problems. Mine will only fire after the slide is slammed shut, and then it might fire only one or maybe two rounds before I have to allow the slide to slam shut again. Someone suggested that it might be the extractor having a lot to do with this. But I have not been able to figure out what to do to try and test this. I will just hang around this post and see if anyone can help you and me.

Yesterday I used Aguila Target,CCI sv, and SK sv. I got one-two light hits out of each box.

Re: Xesse Light Hits
I would suggest some analysis of the issue when it happens
Stop and drop the mag. Then look closely at the slide face and chamber area to see if there is any space. Can you push the slide forward. The extractor has a fair amount of spring tension so they will inhibit the slide from fully closing if there is any drag on the slide. Also, do a plunk test on the round that experienced the light hit..
I own 2 trailsides and polished both extractors in the nose area to help them slide into the barrel notch.
I would also pull the recoil spring and check for any drag on the slide with and without a magazine loaded with 5 rounds.
It goes without saying the chamber should be clean of any carbon ring. Clean it it Hoppe's and a 25 cal. Bronze brush.
Is this happening randomly or on a particular round number in the mag?? BTW you should always slingshot the 1st round in the mag on these guns. Dropping the slide with the release will wear both it and the slide notch. Been a problem on these guns.

This is random. There doesn't seem to be any drag on the slide. I have ordered a new extractor and will try that. Have you or anyone else tried the extra power magazine springs from Larry's?jglenn21 wrote:

Re: Xesse Light Hits
Greetings,
The Xesse, it is made by Haemmerli, yes?
I had both an SP-20 and 280 that had tight chambers.
Some lots of CCI Standard have more wax than others and chambering was a problem.
My solution was to sort my ammo by lot.
Try shooting some ammo with a non-wax lube.
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Xesse Light Hits
all I run are Larrys springs for the magazines but he passed away recently and his business is hung up right now.. polish the face of the extractor before you install it. the edge that runs against the cutout in the slide/barrel.
also see if you are scraping lead off the bullets when they are being feed. feed a few and don't shoot them just pull them out and inspect the round
is this a new to you X-esse.

I have probably had this gun for 4-5 years. Worked great when new, no problems of any kind. Now it seems to be worn out and in need of replacement parts.

Re: Xesse Light Hits
one thing to check on the extractor is for the hook to be chipped.. fairly common on these. had that on my trailside although it still functioned ok

With Larrys in limbo, parts would be an issue but Walther Usa has all of the parts in house. its easy to order from them. the specialty parts Larry had hopefully will survive.
