Hammerli 208 Trigger Adjustments
I've got a minor issue with my Hammerli 208. I had to replace the screw that adjusts the trigger as well as fits into the slide stop. Ever since I replaced that screw the trigger wont adjust. It stays on one weight which has become an inconvenience. Also, the slide doesn't cock forward everytime manually when not loaded (not using the slide stop to release the upper). I believe this might be a slide stop spring issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Re: Hammerli 208 Trigger Adjustments
I can't figure out what screw you have described that is involved with both the trigger and the slide stop. Where is this screw located?
As for the spring, It can become dislodged from the hole in the frame behind the stop. The stop should have spring tension pushing it down and it should move very freely against that tension. If the spring is out of its hole, it can cause the stop to drag and stay in the upward position.

Hey Ed,
Good hearing from you.
I'm looking for a schematic online and haven't found it yet, but the screw holds in the slide stop which also can be used to adjust the trigger weight.
The spring doesn't have any defects and fits properly, but the slide stop doesn't move freely when manually cocking it forward.
Hope all is well up north. Just relocated to Ft Worth, joined 2 bullseye leagues, both 15 minutes from where I'm living. Shooting both international and bullseye each week. Gearing up for a 10m PTO next month.

Re: Hammerli 208 Trigger Adjustments
Hi Orion,
I can't see anything that the slide stop screw does to affect trigger weight. The stop should be free enough to move up and down unrestricted and the spring should put a definite tension in the downward direction to move it out of the way until the magazine follower overcomes that downward tension with upward pressure to engage the stop on extraction of the last round. (How's that for a run-on sentence?)
There's a good page with the trigger adjustments at:
Pilkington's TenP Hammerli International 208/211/214/215 page
and they have a copy of the manual at:
Factory Owner's Manual - 208 & 215
We've had some cold (a couple of nights in the 20's) and the tiniest bit of flurries (barely noticeable), but otherwise not too bad.
Glad to hear you're settling in and have some competition lined up. Good luck with it and keep me posted.
