Rear sight 52-2 vs 41

Does anybody out there have both S&W 52-2 and 41 (later or current production) and could check if the elevation screws are the same?

Here are two of the answers. Or maybe only one.

Old 41 (7") and old 41 short barrel.

Old 41 short barrel and 52 no dash ( I don't have a 52-2)

It's convoluted but doable. Buy the 41 barrel pictured below. Remove the rear sight. Clean up existing holes and mount a nice scope rail on the barrel. Polish so it doesn't look old and sell on ebay for more then you pay for it.

I have a S&W 52-2 and a S&W performance center model 41.  I believe the sights are the same for the performance center and standard model 41.  The model 41 screw has a notches for a detente on the circumference of the screw head and the model 52-2 does not.  i will try to attach a photo.  (my third attempt at this).

The original sights on the Model 41  5 1/2" Heavy Barrel and Model 52 have a rather unusual thread on the elevation screw.

Yes, the sights are the same part number for both guns.

For the curious, the thread is a #4-80. (Try buying a tap or die at Home Depot...)

The screw can be machined by anyone with a lathe and mill.
