.38 Spec. 148 BNWC load data needed!
First topic message reminder :
Is anyone shooting these .38 148's from Brizos in a Model 15 S&W?
If so if you would share your load data I would greatly appreciate it!
I've tried Bullseye, WST, 231, Tight Group, and True Blue with both lead and coated and can't even get them in the black yet at 25 yds.
Thanks!

Folks mix up head of the case and head of bullet.
Pretty sure Dave was referring to the former and having done it, l can tell you it's not fun

I load with 2.8gr of WST for revolvers and crimp at the groove. Shoots ok at 25 yards in a S&W M14-3 using a two hands on the revolver but no good for 50 yards.
The top one is a flier but that's just me...
I use .358" bullets for steel frame revolvers and .357" with nickle cases for aluminum frame revolvers.

I've had short line luck with DEWC from Bob's Bullets (RIP) using 3.5 W231. Avg FPS 745. This load will not hold paper at 50 in my M14; would suggest running cast hotter, maybe 4.0 W231, to get better results at 50 with W231.

I wanted to add that my bullet size choices mentioned above were based on cylinder throat measurements (the steel framed revolvers are all sized for lead bullets).

I’m going to just stick with this.
Old folks shooting their own hard cast bullets winning championships.

BNWC
2.6 to 2.7 VV310, BE,WST
Shoulder should be almost flush with the case mouth
Medium Roll Crimp
I expand my cases so the bullet slides in the case about 1/3rd way in before meeting friction and does not damage the base
Out of my M19 they shoot better than SWC but worse than HBWC. That load should hold Sub 25 Yard 10 Ring from a bench.
