Testing a MatchGuns MG4 barrel
Greetings,
I was offered the opportunity to test a MatchGuns MG4 32 S&W Long WadCutter barrel.
Of course, I welcomed the offer!!!
The barrel is about 152mm long. The groove diameter is 0.3148", bore diameter 0.3035", with six lands and grooves. I did not measure the twist.
The chamber measures 0.339" at the front and 0.3425" at the rear.
All groups fired at 50 yards with the barrel held in a mechanical fixture.
Cheers,
Dave

Wow, very interesting. The barrel diameter is significantly larger than what the MG specs indicate as I recall? However, the results are impressive. Even the Splinkers are ok. I use them for 25y often, when too lazy to bump them.
