Sweaty Hands
Too much slippage in timed and rapid. Always re-setting my grip. Can anything be done to combat this in BE shooting? Back when I played golf I used antiperspirant on my glove hand, and rotated gloves. With no glove allowed, it makes it worse. My grips are checkered, but I'm not using grip tape (service pistol legal?). Thanks...

Re: Sweaty Hands
Greetings,
Along with Rosin Powder, consider one of the Hogue rubber grips.
I like the finger groove model for the 1911 frames.
Something about the rubber/plastic they use. Sweaty hand does not seem to move about as much.
Cheers,
Dave

I don’t use this so I can’t say much about it but I know some people that do and they like it.

+1 - Will give you all the grip you need. I keep an bristle brush in my box to brush what sticks in the back and front strap serrations because it can build up if you let itrreid wrote:http://www.bullseyegear.com/bullseyegear/cramers-firm-grip-powder-4-oz-shaker.html

Re: Sweaty Hands
If you’re looking for service pistol legal, the wrap around grips are not allowed, but grip tape is. I’m not sure how aggressive your checkering is, but the Kensight Sharkskin grips work very well for me, and are very reasonably priced. Having the front strap checkered and a checkered main spring housing will also help keep the gun from slipping. I also have a golf towel on my gun box to wipe any sweat, ammo lube, or oil off my hands.

Re: Sweaty Hands
I HAVE USED IT FOR YEARS WHEN SHOOTING PPC AND BULLSEYE. IT'S NOT STICKY AT ALL. IT'S KEEPS YOU HANDS DRY. HURRICANE ELANA HIT THE NATIONAL POLICE PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIPS MANY YEARS AGO. IT RAINED OVER 9 INCHES IN 1 DAY. THE ONLY THING DRY WAS MY HANDS. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THING S ABOUT IT. Re: Sweaty Hands
Thanks for the suggestions. I see where grips tape is also legal for CMP and NRA pistol. Is that friction tape? Cloth hockey tape with rosin? Curious

This is what I use for "grip tape".

I suggest doing a little research on the grip style that Zins promotes. When done correctly, the gun won't move in your hand, everything else just aids in confidence. Just my .02

Re: Sweaty Hands
I second that advice. I used to use a grip technique that aligned my forearm with the sights. This sort of puts your hand behind the gun. It feels great but the gun twists at the first shot and a string of shots becomes a struggle. The Zins grip orients your hand on the side. It feels somewhat awkward but the gun doesn't move from shot to shot at all so I think it's worth a try.Steve B wrote:I suggest doing a little research on the grip style that Zins promotes. Good luck.

Re: Sweaty Hands
I use VZ Diamond Back Grips on my EIC gun and no slippage. Just make sure that the grips are symmetrical for EIC matches.
