Blackhawk Accuracy?
The only people I know to bother with handgun work at 50 yards are hunters and bullseye shooters. Has anyone got any accuracy reports to share on a Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt at 50 at yards? Just wondering. I won’t be shooting one competitively by possibly loading for one as a plinker. Thanks

Super accurate. If I could figure out how to keep up with range commands I would try to shoot it in a .45 match. They are fun in Reeves matches.

I'd like to try one out for a full revolver-only 2700. Still need the .22, though.

I had one in 44 mag that I downloaded to 44 special (or thereabouts) for silhouette matches. Tack driver at 50 yds. The only gun I regret selling.

They’re pretty accurate. Try to get one with an ACP cylinder so you can shoot your Bullseye loads.
Most of my shooting with mine is with 255-265 cast SWC bullets over factory level charges of Unique. Maybe I could do better, but unless it’s Bullseye or rifle, most of my shooting is “make gun go bang and bullet hit target” variety.

45 Colt has several manufacturing standards...older BH had 0.454 or larger cylinder throats with various groove diameters. Same was true for early Smith 45 acp guns...newer guns are fine .
Re: Blackhawk Accuracy?
I shot Blackhawks a lot before getting into bullseye and have a variety of them and calibers. I never shot them much at 50 yds except for a 357 6" which would hold 1.5" with right loads. With regards to 45 ACP/Colt 5.5" it could shoot 1-2'' groups at 25 yds pretty routinely. These are off of bag.
The 45 Colt Blackhawk is known for tight cylinder throats and mine was no exception. I needed to send that off for reaming in order to get good accuracy out of it. My 45 ACP cylinder (for the 45 conversion) is cut a bit short, meaning I have to load them to shorter OAL than regular BE SWC loads. Not sure if that's common or not.
But, all told I'm a huge fan of the Blackhawk. There's not many things more satisfying and fun to shoot than 45 Colt SA. They can of course be loaded up or down but found best results with Unique powder and 255 gr SWC or RNFP. Freedom Arms makes the most accurate SA made if you can afford it. i could not

I have a BH 4 7/8 barrel. Mostly shoot r 45 ACP. So much fun. I’ve only shot it at 25 yards. Bullseye style I can stay in the black of a SF target. Super fun gun!

You gotta love those Bisley’s. I have one in 500 Linebaugh. Anyone want to try it in rapid fire?

I do I do. I think it would be a blast.
If I needed another 45 Colt I would be looking at this Bisley. NFI
