SW 41 sear safety pin adjustment

SW 41 sear safety pin adjustment
I have a 41 safety that can not slip snugly behind the sear because the safety pin hits the sear nose solidly and overlaps the sear by about half the diameter of the pin. No way is there enough give to slip past the sear.
Any ideas?
