Sig P320 X Five Accuracy with a Leupold Delta Point Pro Red Dot.
The group is a 5 shot group at 20 yards using Remington 9mm ammo. Pistol is a Sig P320 X Five Legion with a Leupold Delta Point Pro 2.5 Moa Red Dot. About a 1 inch group. Outstanding Accuracy.

Work your way back to 50 yds. If it holds 3 “ your good to go.

I have two, they are less than 3" guns at 50 yds with good ammo. Maybe sub 2 with tailored load.

I love this pistol. Well designed and thought out. The Leupold Delta Point with 2.5 Moa red dot is excellent design also.

If that is true, then manufacturing tolerances really are getting better (not necessarily tighter) across the board.Allgoodhits wrote:james r chapman wrote:Work your way back to 50 yds. If it holds 3 “ your good to go.

ETA: I wonder what the next step in accuracy or function will be?

I'm sure that the wizards of the AMU and Marine Corps Pistol Team are already at work!Saladman wrote:If that is true, then manufacturing tolerances really are getting better (not necessarily tighter) across the board.Allgoodhits wrote:james r chapman wrote:Work your way back to 50 yds. This was a Sig Sauer ( P320 X Five Legion Pistol ) . Made for competition . I have a Leupold Delta Point Pro 2.5 moa red dot sight on it. Great combo. I like the Leupold Delta Point Pro red dot better than the Vortex Venom. I just sold the Vortex. The Leupold has a bigger glass window, bigger groves in the screw head to adjust windage and elevation . Better flip up top battery compartment. Better adjustable on the red dot.

How is the trigger? Is it good enough for CMP leg matches? CMP lists X-Five as legal for EIC, so if the trigger is good enough, it may be a good option.
Re: Sig P320 X Five Accuracy with a Leupold Delta Point Pro Red Dot.
The trigger is outstanding. I figure about 3 1/2 pounds. I shot a lot a of 9mm. This firearm is well designed. The leoupold Delta Pro red dot is outstanding also on this pistol. I looked at a lot of firearms before I bought this one. Doubles as a steel chellenge firearm. I have an extensive background in the design of small arms weapons from the military.

Recommend picking up a Lyman digital trigger gauge, can be found for about 40 bucks. I use mine all the time when confirming legal trigger weights before matches on everything from revolvers to .22s, dialing in 1911 triggers by manipulating the sear spring, and providing proven trigger weights when making sales.smsnyder wrote:The trigger is outstanding. There's a pretty big difference between 3.5 and 4 lbs, namely the type of competition you can enter.

Never measured the trigger pull. Just guessing from experience. Another sig I like is the Sig P210 target. It is like a 1911 not striker fire like the P320 X Five Legion.

I think you will find that your sig has approximately 6 pounds pull. I also have a gun like yours and shoot bullseye in the centerfire division. Look up Grayguns.com and review their drop in trigger kit for the P320 X-Five for $129.00. My X-Five went from 5 lbs 15 ounces to 2 pounds 13 ounces with the kit installed. You can install the kit yourself if you are handy or a gunsmith can install it. You can also have Grayguns install it for you for $99.00 but it will tie your firearm up for a couple weeks. I actually prefer the sig to my S&W Model 41 22 caliber that I use in the rim fire division. I use a Sig Sauer Romeo 3 red dot. Good luck, you have an awesome firearm. Dave

Re: Sig P320 X Five Accuracy with a Leupold Delta Point Pro Red Dot.
I have three Sig 320's of various types. I don't own an X-Five. That being said, when one intends upon shooting any pistol in NRA matches, it behooves one to know, not guess, what the trigger weighs. It also behooves one to know the rules, be they NRA or CMP, especially regarding trigger weight, but also other rules about the gun, like whether or not optical sights are allowed. I personally think that manipulating a Sig striker-fired trigger system at 50 yards would be much more of a challenge than a trigger from a single-action pistol, but I'm sure in the right hands it could be done and done well.

X-Fives have lighter than standard triggers, the product webpage at https://www.sigsauer.com/store/p320-xfive-legion.htm states "The trigger pull of the XFIVE Legion is up to 30% lighter with the new skeletonized trigger, which increases shooting speed and accuracy." As pull weight on a standard 320 is between 5 and 6 lbs, an X-Five trigger can be expected to break somewhere between 3-1/2 and just over 4 lbs. Not sure an improved trigger is required on any of the X-Fives.
Wonder if the X-Five Legion will be CMP legal as a Service Pistol? X-Fives are.

I agree from experience I think its about 3 1/2 to 4 pounds. Very nice trigger. Should be a great steel chellenge pistol. Bullyseye?

There's only one way to find out, and that's to try it out! Looking forward to hearing the range reports in competition.smsnyder wrote:I agree from experience I think its about 3 1/2 to 4 pounds. Very nice trigger. Should be a great steel chellenge pistol. Bullyseye?

Re: Sig P320 X Five Accuracy with a Leupold Delta Point Pro Red Dot.
The SIG 320 X5s have excellent striker type triggers compared to many others of that type. It is not a clean, crisp "glass break" feel of what many perceive as a good target trigger. However, if one likes a roll trigger on their 1911, then the SIG trigger would likely be more to one's liking. The Gray Guns trigger enhance does make it better, especially if you have an earlier, "pre-factory" trigger upgrade. The post drop test factory upgrade triggers are better than the pre-upgrade factory triggers, IMO.
I can't speak for other 320's or all X5's, but mine shoot very, very well at 50 yds. I think I recall Franks and Sokolowski saying they have shot in the 290's with them in NMC. I think Franks shot a 1918/1920 in a Bianchi Match with his 320 X5. They are pretty awesome for a box gun of that price range. The 320 X5 is EIC Service Pistol legal. Don't know if the Legion is on the list. My "guess" is that it has to be on the list, specifically, and not simply, automatically come under 320, or 320 X5.

I have put over 1000 9mm round through the Sig P320X Five Legion. Not one FTF. Groups are around 1 1/2 at 20 yards. I really like the grips/mag well and weight of the pistol. Recoil is tamed big time in this well designed pistol. I feel for $850 the pistol is a bargain. I looked at the CZ Shadow II, the Sig P210 the Walther Q5. All fine pistols but I like the Sig P320 the best. Next I liked the Sig P210 target. Might even buy that one. It is like a 1911 design with a hammer design..
