At Swamp Perry when the water is high, some people shoot barefoot.
I think those socks have to add 10 points to your score!
The pistol is a good choice too. The short sight radius will make the sights appear steadier so it will be easier to accept your wobble and smoothly pull the trigger.

22 magnum isn't legal.
I've got one of the percussion models, but it shoots 29 gr bullets, not LR spec either.
