Hope this link comes through, video from undeniably the best Bullseye pistol shooter ever.  After all this discussion on shooting lenses and apertures. let's take a step back and remember what is most crucial with our sight picture.

I think Herschel Anderson might have some claim to the best Bullseye Pistol Shooter ever. I believe the competition was fiercer back then.

I agree, holding the national record without the "benefit" of a red dot for nearly half a century says something. Not taking anything away from Gunny.

Brian earned the USMC Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge. I am sure he would not make that claim either. He sure is one heck of a shooter either way.

Not to be forgotten, Jim Lenardson was the last shooter to win the National Pistol Championship using iron sights.  It would be a great treat if Jim Lenardson and Hershel Anderson would provide their insights regarding their vision and how they focus while shooting with iron sights.  I believe list members know Jim and Hershel and perhaps they may try contacting them.  Thanks!

Not to mention LtCol William W. McMillan, Jr. USMC (Ret'd) R.I.P.
