185 gr jhp loads with clays
ive been trying clays for my cast loads and really like it. I’m wondering if anyone is using clays with 185 jhp noslers or zeros? Pretty clean powder and the recoil impulse is a bit different than BE.
Look forward to any successful load data

Thanks. I just got an Auto Trickler so metering won't be a problem. Still, it will be a little slow loading one at a time. I mainly got it for ransom rest testing and long line loads.

If you can get it to meter consistently you'll find 4.2 - 4.4 gr Clays with the 185 JHP is PHENOMENAL

The Auto Trickler will measure any powder exactly out to the hundreth. I bought the complete kit. I would only do that if you plan on loading rifle. The hopper on top will not throw any less than 8grs. For pistol I just us the trickler. It will take less than 10 seconds to trickle your load. The cool thing is it is bluetooth capable. You can adjust your load by as little as .02 grains from your cell phone or tablet. It's a little pricey at $950. What got me interested was the quest for a new scale. My Sartorius I bought six years ago died. The scale in this system retails for over $600. With the system they discount it to $450. It is rock solid. No drifting like the Sartorius. With ZERO or Nosler 185 JHPs 4.1 - 4.3 Clays works very well with slide mounted H1 and 13 lb spring

I use your load with Zero 185 HP and loved it. Of course each gun likes certain ammo but it worked well for me and you're right clays is clean and it shoots a little softer.
