Is it ok to shoot jhp's in a wad gun? Or should I only shoot wadcutters?

How about FMJ Wadcutter? JHP, FMJ or lead. They should all run great in your pistol. The short ones.  Smile

Thank you, I've been in contact with the manufacturer about the gun. It's not cycling properly (no eject). This morning I tested their recommended ammunition (185gr Federal gold match and they dont cycle properly either). My loads were with zero 185jhp. Just trying to eliminate all the variables. Its probably going to have to go back to them. It has less than 100 rounds through it.

If it’s a Les Baer pistol (and maybe a few others), it may need a “break in period” where you have to fire 100 or 200 full power (230 Ball) loads.

Thank you, It's a Rock River and they have assured me there is no break in period. I'll see how to proceed from here on Monday.

How hard does it snap out of battery when hand cycled? What weight recoil spring?
Try shooting it two handed holding really firm and see if it cycles. You might not be holding/gripping it hard enough.
