Aimpoint Comp M2/M3 on a pistol?
I have a couple of Ultradots on pistols, but an Aimpoint would be nice too. Problem is they cost a lot.
I already have 2 Aimpoints on rifles - a Comp M2 and a Comp M3, best I recall, mostly just sitting around in the safe. They don't seem to be all that different from something like a 9000 SC except for the length. The major mounting difference looks like they use one ring instead of two.
Has anybody ever mounted a Comp M2/M3/m4 type Aimpoint on a pistol?

Yes, I mounted older Comp XD that came recently with another pistol on 6" Kart 22LR. I used my 9000sc reduced shades kit - http://www.photoescapeinc.com/products/aimpoint-9000sc-shades-kit.html, added Ultradot's extension tube on the back, and RBR/Aperture rings. Mounted the same way as 9000sc with two rings - https://www.ebay.com/itm/30mm-Low-Matte-Black-Picatinny-Weaver-Style-Bolt-On-Scope-Ring-Pair/163956454654?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
Works quite good. The only issue is adjustments. Took me a while to figure out how UP-Left and UP-Right work, as opposed to just UP and R. And then about 20 rounds to zero it in at 25Y. I'll be able to post picture later when I get home.

Yes, they work fine. Also if interested Jon Shue has shades which will fit themBren wrote:I have a couple of Ultradots on pistols, but an Aimpoint would be nice too. Problem is they cost a lot.

I HAVE MOUNTED AIMPOINT C3 IN THE PAST. WORKED PERFECTLY. I HAD ONE ON A 1911 9MM AND .45 BOTH WITH SLIDE MOUNTS. I SUGGEST USING THE AIMPOINT LOW RING. IT REALLY PLACES THE SIGHT AS LOW AS POSSIBLE. SEE LINK. JP

Thanks. I'm going to give one of the Comps a try.
