equipment set up help
whats the best way to approach bullseye and a hardball 1911
i have 2 springfield mil specs. and i ordered a marvel unit 1.
Should i get a third 1911 for dedicated 22,wad,hardball ???
could i use 1 frame and attach the slides so i can really learn my trigger?

If you are really hard on yourself like I am, you can set the trigger on your main frame for 4lb and use it for hardball, .22 and wad, but since you already have 2, I think you should run a lighter trigger for the .22, and the heavier one for wad and ball. Even the difference between 3.5lb and 4lb does have an impact. It's hard to believe 3.5lb feels super light compared to 4lb.

im sure a light 22 trigger would make it a more competitive. I was also thinking on the lines of keeping a 4lb trigger would give me more training for a service match pistol.

If your starting out i would go with a modest setup, use one gun as hardball and marvel base, which you will rarely shoot as hardball
, because matches are mostly only held during state, regional and camp perry matches plus you can only shoot 3 a year plus camp perry if you go. Get a gunsmith to fix you up a second sear spring set at about 3lbs to put in when using with the 22 setup, then set the other 1911 as a true wad gun with 3.5 lb trigger, trying to set things at 4lbs will just make it hard on you to progress as a beginner, you can after shooting do that if you choose later on.

Re: equipment set up help
I think you should set up your wad/ball gun for the trigger weight that is consistent with your goals. My goal is to get a distinguished medal for the ball gun, so I keep my .45 trigger at 4lbs. (that's the legal weight for CMP matches) If your goal is to shoot Master or High Master, then go with a 3.5lb trigger and set up for Wadgun.
