Equipment Recommendation
Been shooting Bullseye for several years and I am building a pistol box. Looking for a dedicated scope, have been using a Kowa that I use for Highpower Rifle. Need something that can only be 4 1/2 inches wide and 15 inches long. So I have been looking at the Minox MD 50 W. To be used indoor only. Anyone use this and can it be focused at short range. Or is there something else out there I should be considering? Thanks BTW have the Gil Herbard mount.

Re: Equipment Recommendation
Hi Hammer:
While I have an ancient champion choice spotter in my box, a number of my teammates have one of these:
http://www.champchoice.com/store/Main.aspx?p=ItemDetailOptions&item=CC1030
A lot clearer and brighter then mine and I am envious. Not envious enough to upgrade my spotter because I think that I look through my spotter too much and a nicer scope would just be inviting myself to peer through it more often but a very good scope with a nice price.
I highly recommend it. Clear, Bright, angled eyepiece, rotates, able to pick out 22 holes at 50 yards almost always and easily focused.
Most of my teammates do not bother with the Hebard mount, don't need it with the rotating feature.
Regards,
Crankster

Re: Equipment Recommendation
I have a Minox. It is good for up to 25 yards, most light conditions. Hard to see 22 holes at 50 yards in less than bright daylight. Indoors at 50 feet it is fine, but if light level is poor, with my old eyes, sometimes tricky to see 22 holes in the black. For CF and 45 good at all distances.
I know several other owners who recommended them to me. Good performance/price point.
But, I have to admit that I bought a larger scope that takes up almost all of my box space, just because my eyesight is not great and I get frustrated if I can't see every shot even in poor light.

I have a minox, like it a lot, I would buy the angled eye piece if I did it over. I have not used it indoors but I think it would be fine.

Another vote for the Kowa TSN-501. I bought one at Perry last year. I doubt I'll ever need another scope again unless something happens to this one.

Re: Equipment Recommendation
As far as I know, these NG 20x33 spotting scopes are no longer available new. The only possibility is finding one offered for sale used on this forum, eBay or elsewhere. Good luck!
I also see several shooters using them at the matches I attend. I must try to remember to ask for a peep through one. I'm sorry to say that I'm sceptical of reliably seeing 22 holes in the black on a dull day at 50 yards with my eyes and such a small scope

I used to own one. They’re really really nice. Easy to see what you need to for this sport. But I had an eye relief problem for me. I needed to be right up on it. I prefer a slightly bigger lens so I don’t need to be right dang near against it.

Re: Equipment Recommendation
Ah, yes. You are correct, Cibles Canada, but they do not list a price or availability on their website. And the scope is not shown on their eBay site.
I have sent an email enquiry to them.

Re: Equipment Recommendation
They only import 10 or so at a time. Right now I can say they are probably out! When I ordered mine I contacted them and they really did email me when they got their next shipped! With shipping and money conversion I think I paid 283 total shipped! I got it last Augradjag wrote:Ah, yes. Re: Equipment Recommendation
Jim, so they are imported by Cibles into Canada - where are they made? I'm guessing China, cause I did come across an AliBaba item which looked very similar - there was no price quoted, but I'm willing to bet that it would be a heck of a lot less than $283. Typically, vendors on AliBaba will only sell in "bulk", hence the 10 minimum shipment.

Re: Equipment Recommendation
NG DGL-20 20X33 is the complete model name.
Also named DGJ-20 and sold under the Anschutz brand in Europe.
Manufactured in China. Several Canadian vendors offering at similar price to Jim's. I'm awaiting a response from a dealer in China, but best indication is that they are ~$140 wholesale in China, so probably ~$100 ex-factory. Plus shipping, etc., of course.
