Looking for best source of .223/556 components
Looking for best source of .223/556 components, bullets and brass. Also, recommendations for wet tumblers, thinking they are the best way to reduce lead levels.

You should change your topic heading to reflect the content. Then you will get better response to your question.
Next time, just put the statement about being off topic into the body of your post. We appreciate that you are trying to do the right thing by giving some notice.
We make allowances for occasionally posting about certain topics, especially during these strange times where it is just nice to have a place and people to chat with. We would not encourage thirty posts about AR-15s and ammo etc. and we have some hard limits on politics and decorum, so just use good judgment in your postings.

Re: Looking for best source of .223/556 components
There will frequently be mention of particularly good prices on ammo or components on discussion forums. Look here for such. For .223 in particular, I would suggest looking on forums such as:
http://www.usrifleteams.com/forums/
There, I have seen several discussions on Wolf Gold .223 primed brass at the Ammunition Store. I bought a lot of it, and am very pleased with it.
https://ammunitionstore.com/products/223-rem-primed-brass-wolf-performance-1000-piece-case.html
There are others that like Lake City and others.
On that forum, you will also see discussions about particular makes and brands of bullets and powder, their merits and demerits. In order to point you somewhere, people will have to know what rifle, barrel and course of fire you intend.
There are ammunition search engines which can help you a lot, both for assembled ammo and for components:

It would also be helpful, if we knew what weight bullets and brand of powder/ primers you prefer. Also, if you list the state where you live, it might be possible to do a mask-to-mask deal.

Best brass for the dime right now is
https://ammunitionstore.com/products/223-rem-primed-brass-wolf-performance-1000-piece-case.html
Can’t even buy processed GI for that.
Best bullet Is determined by your purpose...Grafs and MidSouth have good prices.

Greetings,
I like the Lortone QT12 rock tumbler for cleaning brass.
I use water and dish soap with the Stainless Steel pins.
Never had a tumbler barrel leak.
Cheers,
Dave

Happy Easter to all, thanks for the kind and helpful responses! More of a reader than a poster, but last night the bourbon and beer loosened my fingers... (Told my girl next time I'm drinking like that take my iPad away!) Been losing 45 for years, just looking for a decent relatively cheap bullet, 1:8 twist barrel & Hogdon CFE223 powder and Winchester primers on hand.
Oh yeah, I'm in Upstate NY...
I'll try to put together a better post next time...

Since you are looking for cheap, I assuming this will be for plinking and zombie killing at shorter ranges?
Your best bet for an accurate inexpensive but accurate load is to get the previously mentioned primed Wolf and Mid south Varmint Extreme 55g bullets HP. CFE223 is like H335 and W748 so check the manuals but somewhere between 26 and 27 grains will give you and accurate magazine length load.
Another good way to get what you want is to shoot the Wolf Gold 55 fmj and reload the brass. That is plenty accurate and you get good brass when you are done. It was plentiful and cheap a month ago.... I am sure that has all changed now.
edit to add..... I was getting Wolf Gold 55FMJ for about 30 cents a piece ( $300/1000). Looks like it is jacked up to closer to 40 cents now and some places are really gouging at even higher prices.

Re: Looking for best source of .223/556 components
Yes, ammo prices are definitely spiking. Got my hands on some extra primers and a couple 1 lb canisters of the CFE223. Figure I can make some since I can’t go to the range at this time. Need to work on developing loads for the 45 with the new Brazos bullets. No point in that till I can get to the range either. So basic plinking/zombie killers are in order! Setting up for 223 should occupy more than a bit of my time.

Re: Looking for best source of .223/556 components
My Eliseo bolt rifle and my AR have completely different setups. For the AR, I've been happy to use Hornady 68gr bullets and Varget powder. You can buy Starline brass or by the primed brass mentioned above. Wolf stuff is good, but know that the next time you load, you will need to ream out the crimped primer pockets. I don't think it is that big a deal. Anyway, for the bolt rifle, I shoot to 1000 yards so it is a much different ball game.
I've been using the STM wet tumbling system for a few years now and like it a lot. Honestly, I haven't heard of any of the systems being bad so your choice shouldn't make a big difference.
Good luck,
Joel

Graf's had 4k Wolf 55 grain bullets before shopagedon. I'm gonna miss the ammo under 30 cents a round. Hopefully it will be back in a few months. The 55 grain is great for 100 yard matches.

Thanks for all the helpful replies, as always this forum is a great resource far beyond my ability to express the appropriate level of gratitude. Thank you all!
