It may be old news to some here but I am seeing the first ransom rested groups (at 25 yds only) with the new Python.  Hopefully more to come with DEWC's.  I also noticed that it has a 1:14 TWIST.

Your link is not working quite right, but this one seems to work.

4” barrel and .357 was most accurate? Five 5-shot groups and not much detail on the testing procedure, but an interesting result.

Greetings,

All the old Colts in 38 Special and 357 were 1:14 twist.

Cheers,

Dave

1:14 twist was why the barrels got stuck on S&W’s!

Not horrible groups for a factory revolver, interesting comparison to a vintage one. I won't consider one until they get to $1300'ish, not the $2k they're currently going for. I always wondered why they discontined they Python, good to see someone finally listened to a marketing team. Now to see if they can keep em running.

Yep and a few months ago on Gunbroker there was a Smolt Smithon for sell! I think it sold for 1500 and that’s with the aristocrat front sight!

All of NRA's accuracy testing is pretty much worthless to shooters like us.  There is a huge difference in potential from the 25 yard line and the 50 as you well know.  The 50 yard line separates the pretenders from the real deal.  What really amuses me is when they test at very short ranges, probably necessary to keep 'em all on paper.  But they seem to like them all regardless.

In one of the Colt forum threads a guy did some testing at 50 yards, the gun shot well but he was using magnum loads if I remember correctly.  If these become CA legal I would consider one.
