Handled Recommendations for Remington R1 - .45 ACP?
Hello,
Older fellow who came to shoot outside Bullseye pistol said he can't get reloads to function in is new R1? He is an experienced reloader.
Thus he is sticking to factory ball for now.
Anybody have a suggestion?
Thank You !!

I'll try and get it. He had read somewhere that other R1 owners were having issues with their reloads as well.

I shoot a R1 and never heard about this before
I have a 17 lb main spring and a 14 lb recoil spring. I have tried every spring down to 10. My long line load is 4.5 grains of N310 with a 185 JHP Zero and my short line is 3.8 grains of N310 with a 200 Grain SWC Zero. I have recently had Accurails installed so the slide to frame can’t get any tighter and no malfunctions. My R1 functions clear down to under 600 feet per second in testing with my chrono
This pistol has over 100k rounds through it and other than wearable items the only parts failure I have had is a broken firing pin last year

My Remington R1 has gone bang with every crappy reload I have put through the thing.
I don't know the guy's reloading equipment or practices, and being old does not mean the guy knows what he is doing, or controlling his processes If the old gentleman is having ammunition issues, it is due to his reloads, not the pistol.

All he said was he couldn't get reloads with Missouri lead bullets to feed. I'll get more info when I see him again. He knows how to reload for 45's.

Like others said see what kind of springs he's running and the load data.
