Just when I thought I was having a bad day . . .
My client came in to sign her will. I have been representing "J" in various child custody disputes with her ex for more than 10 years but hadn't seen her in the last two.
When she came in this morning, I did not recognize her. She had lost half her body weight, was breathing through an oxygen tube and was hunched over in a great deal of pain as she shuffled into my office. She told me she was dying of cancer and has only a few weeks to live. The last thing she whispered in my ear as we embraced was, "Buy your little boy lots of ice cream, life is shorter than you think."
Every time I think I'm having a tough day, someone reminds me of how foolish I can be.

I recently watched my sister n law wither away and pass from lung cancer in a 4 month time span from healthy feeling and looking to almost unrecognizable , one of the hardest things to watch Ive ever experienced and i admire how she handled it, i doubt i could have done it with the calm dignity she did.

bad day antidote
My english cocker reminds me daily to take time to have fun. The one that was hit by a truck reminds me never to put it off.
