Hogue Avenger
When researching about fixed barrel mods for 1911, I found some information about Hogue Avenger. Seems like a really cool concept, but apparently was discontinued shortly after it was released. I'm wondering if anyone has seen one or fired one (or even owns one and willing to part with )?
Re: Hogue Avenger
Handled one, never got to shoot it. Basically a P38 delayed locking mechanism in a 1911 top end.
Last I heard it wound up being about $1600 for an upper only (euro manufacturing costs, etc.) and kinda priced itself into non existence.
Never got any reports on durability or reliability.

Re: Hogue Avenger
There were 2 selling on gunbroker about 2 years ago. Full build 1911's, one in 45 and one in 9mm, both looked nice but closed around $1000. I wanted to buy one but there are literally no parts at all in case anything breaks. All in all a cool idea and somewhat like 22lr conversions on 1911, at least in overall function. I wish it took off better than it did...or rather did not.
