They are vaporware made of unobtainium. I have heard about them for years, but I have yet to see one.

DH-Have installed one on my 1911 frame-obtained zero play (V&H).BBL is a bull barrel made by BarSto,free floating and locked to frame- should be accurate.Tested with 200 target loads(all Lead) no issues. Will try accuracy test with a 2-8X scope mounted on the Picatinny that comes on H-A conversion. Since there is less moving mass and a very fast cyclical action-seems like less recoil and muzzle jump-faster shot recovery too.Cheers

Looks like a cool set up, current 2011 price is 1395.00 from Houge. With the cost of a match grade lower for it you could have a good wad gun built. So it would have to be a tack driver to be worth the investment.

Hogue Avenger-45 ACP Empty Hogue Avenger-Accuracy Test

Post by Ernierod 8/17/2011, 7:23 am

The conversion kit(H-A) cost about 1k at Opticsplanet-if they have them.I did preliminary testing with a scope at 25 yards to test if it is a feasable testing tool to use-it is.The test showed that the 6 cavity and 3 cavity brass molds(Mihec and Accurate mold comp.) were best for the H-A unit-They both produced a 200 gr H&G # 68 FB shaped bullet. Two 5 shot groups each bullet produced an average of 1" c-c. I feel with load development(visually checking/weighing each bullet/varying powder charge) this unit is capable of "X" accuracy.Sent dust cover to Hogue Machining to change front sight to HB blade type-no charge. The unit will then be perfect for me. Cheers. https://2img.net/h/i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j359/ernierod1/H-A2.jpg
