CMM 208 1911 frame adapter
First topic message reminder :
I received an email back from CMM shooting sports. He said interest has declined over the years for the 208 style 1911 frame adapters. He does not think he will make another batch but said he would if he got 20-25 shooters who express interest in buying. Not a firm commitment, just reasonable assurance that you’d purchase if they were made.
So now may be your last chance to get one. He asks that you email him at info@cm-machine.com to put your name on the list. I think we can get 20 more. Who’s with me?

Re: CMM 208 1911 frame adapter
Either this company's shop is in some guy's garage or they have an entirely other company they run. They can't be making that many brass catchers and grip adapters to stay that busy. They also don't seem very interested in making money, people have essentially been begging for 208S adapters and they seem to be constantly making excuses why they don't want to produce a run.
I don't even know if I want one anymore. The LGI/Rink wood grips are great and balances well. Its close enough to 1911 grips to make me happy, they aren't super grippy but we're talking about a 22 not a 45.

Re: CMM 208 1911 frame adapter
When the owner first had a booth at Camp Perry I bought one each for my 208 and 41. Being a machinist, I complemented him for how well made all of his products are. He said he owns a real toolmakers shop; so I would assume he is overloaded with real work right now and making bank. Grips and brass catchers could be a "hobby" side line product when he can schedule between "real paying jobs."
I'd just be patient as his grips are worth it

That's what I suspected. CNC time ain't free and surely he's not hand machining them. We've got 4 CNC panel routers at work that cut about 150 sheets of cabinet stock each day and we're running a 50 man cabinet shop.

From the biz profile, the shop is “Custom Model Machine” and is in New Hartford Iowa. It’s a small town and a small shop. There is only one principle listed and one employee. Very likely they are the same person. There is no listing of his equipment. Very likely that is one small to mid sized CNC vertical mill and a few manual machines to support them.

mikemyers check out the link below for CMM
Hämmerli 1911 Frame Adapter (cm-machine.com)
On the website it looks as though you can purchase one, but if you try, it's unavailable.
I like them, got mine a while ago.
