First topic message reminder :
Is there a magic trick to removing Loctite from pistol without removing bluing, etc? Hopefully chemical requiring little elbow grease, mine have no grease left from checkering pistols lol.

Re: What’s best way to remove Loctite from exterior of pistol?
Greetings,
The Thermal approach rang a bell.
When fitting new Pardini barrels, I put the shroud in the oven at 450 F and the residue comes off with the use of a stainless brush.
450 F should not hurt a 1911 slide, so it may be an option.
Use a wooden popsicle stick to avoid marring the finish.
Cheers,
Dave
