Distinguished Revolver 158 SWC
I just got a revolver (586-1) to mess around with and eventually shoot some Distinguished Revolver matches with. That is after I find some better grips.
I loaded some 158 SWCs last week, and initial testing is promising.
I am curious as to how deep you guys seat these in the case.

Thank you -- I now know what a crimp groove is.... Ha, as I said before, I am new to reloading these non-jacketed projectiles.
I got a better seater die and a profile crimp die last week.
The loads I turned out this evening are just lovely after going through that profile crimp die.

You do not really want a "profile" or "taper" crimp die for revolver loads. (Doesn't matter how good they look, they are not good for revolver loads where recoil is trying to pull the other unfired bullets out of the case (forward)).
You want the standard "roll crimp" and see the end of the case "rolled" into the bullet crimp groove.
Get some factory 158 gr lead cartridges and look at the roll crimp as an example. Plus the extra crimp gets you better powder ignition.
