Trying to put together a consistent 50 yard 38 caliber round that meets the 120,000 power factor. Running them in S&W K frames with 6" Douglas barrels.
In the past I remember having extreme tight groups with a S&W Model 547 (9mm) revolver with custom 6" barrel (probably Douglas) using 110 and 125gr JHP bullets. The "jacketed hollow point" bullets were always hands down the most accurate round over any lead bullet. Always had better accuracy with HP bullets in my other revolvers also.
Been experimenting with 148 HBWC and 148 BNWC...accuracy is OK but not like the 547. My W231 charge is 3.9gr and only produces around 825fps with the lead WC bullets? The suggested 3.7 gr charge is not even close.
From what I understand running jacketed bullets in a Douglas barrels in not recommended and I'm not sure what the twist rate is right now.
SO...I'd like to try some "lead hollow point bullets"..,..found the source below..but they have a long backlog....are there any other sources I can contact?
Thanks

Running hi velocity with hbwc is dangerous. Skirts blow off jamming barrels.
Made for 730 FPS precision loads.
