Aguila Super Extra $v 22 LR
About two years ago I ran across a good deal on some Aguila Se Sv. I was looking for CCI Sv but couldn’t find any anywhere. So I thought what the heck, better than nothing.
Now after shooting almost one case I’ve come to conclusion it’s OK. A little dirty, but shoots good for practice. Runs good in my 41s, Nelson and 17-4. Even works in a TPH.
Still not CCI sv though. Would I buy again?, no not at current prices. Your experience?

I shoot a HS 107 Supermatic Citation with an LSP barrel. 280 average.
Another shooter on our team who has a higher average shoots Aguila SE in his .22 conversion on 45 frame.
Shoots well in my Ruger BA & Savage/Anschutz BA.
I've settled on Aguila SE with no duds after shooting a case. I then bought 5 more last year at $166/case. Very clean and no greasy lube.
Last year CCI was $250/case and lube needed to be cleaned off with Hornady One Shot.
Aguila Pistol Match was $368/case and no more accurate for my ability.
CMP ELY Club $365/case in 500rd boxes was too greasy for my HS.
I'm limited living in NY to which suppliers will ship ammo to home address which makes it hard to purchase deals.
Hard to believe price increases: Aguila SE now $460 & CCI $322; both Not in Stock.
Anybody find better current prices & supply?

Re: Aguila Super Extra $v 22 LR
I have not seen any good prices on any of my normal ammos that I use.
I shoot a Pardini and there are a few ammos that I avoid for various reasons.
Aguilla SE is acceptable for use during warm weather only. When the temperature dips to below 50 degrees or so, I start experiencing failures in my Pardini. These can be somewhat alleviated by warming the ammo in your pocket but other ammos have proven to be reliable at colder temperatures.
currently I am shooting off my stockpile I built up the last couple years since the great obama ammo shortage. I am watching for good prices but have not found any good deals yet. I did take advantage of purchasing a couple of cases from the CMP and they are on the way but not delivered yet.
Going to watch the election closely and if ammo prices re-stabilize, going to build up my stockpile.
For what it is worth, I have a number of cases of the new orange stripe CCI SV that I have not gotten to yet, been shooting the Aguila SE while the weather is warm enough so that they are reliable. I am a bit concerned with the reports that I have read about CCI SV with the orange stripe packaging.

Crankster

The easiest way to be a member of a CMP affiliated club (assuming your not already a member of an affiliated range or club) is to join the M1 Collectors Club.

Re: Aguila Super Extra $v 22 LR
My cousin from PA called me tonight to let me know the Cabelas in Hamburg, PA had bricks of Aguila for $27.99, Blazer Brass cases in 9mm, .40 & .45 all no limits.
NYS Rifle & Pistol magazine the Bullet has an article saying the ammo shortage will last thru 2021.
Does anyone have info on production numbers from ammunition plants? Seems like in the INFO age we should be better informed.

Gustavo, I would say that the Cabela's offer you mention is a very good price under the prevailing circumstances. It happens that I was browsing GB this morning and the best "Buy it now" price offered was $500 per case of 5,000.

And there are many vendors trying to gouge $8/box.
