When I’m shooting a gun with the “3 Dots” or a glow worm front sight, I use the front sight dot like a regular red dot.  I put the dot of the front sight on the point I want to hit and then align the rear sight dots so they’re level and evenly spaced around the front dot.  That way my mental image is “dot on target—shoot!”

You are confusing combat sights with POA/POI!

As in the previous post the 3 dot sights are for that "flash sight picture" in combat shooting COM hits! The front sight dot covers the POI!

By placing the top of the front sight at the target center will print low exactly as designed!

I allways used a 6 oclock hold but apparently trijicon nights sight are not set up to do that. What is causing my shoots to shoot low when splitting the bullseye?

To raise POI shave off from top of rear sights. Exactly how much you can calculate with sight calculator online.

That (a shorter rear sight) will lower POI even more.

Heck i am not going to shave off top of rear sight at $120 for the sight. Besides that you can't. It has the night vision vowls in it.

Use sight image 3.  Put the front sight dot where you want to shoot.

Wow sight 3. Covers the target. I have been shooting 6 o'clock hold for 30 years. Big change

Keep in mind that the G42 & G43 are center of mass at Oh Crap distances, not center of bull.   Need help with sight picture 1883569342

Besides not seeing as well as I used to. My minds eye wants to cover where I want the bullet to go. So a dot is now the way to go for me.
POA/POI
Night sights are for self defense shooting, not for targets. While I agree you need to be practiced with the guns you have, when something happens it's a point shoot match.

Yes, you are correct. I did this procedure so long ago that I remember raising POI, but I guess I did lower it. Apologies.

From the internet: "Always remember: Move the rear sight in the same direction you want your point of impact to move & your front sight the opposite direction you want POI to move."

It would be shaving front sight. You would be surprised how NOT much shaving is required to do this procedure. I had trijicons and no issues shaving and re-blue.
