Does anyone have any experience with this bullet in a 45 ACP? I would like to know the OAL for this bullet.
Thanks

Re: Zero bullets
If they have different versions, I am not aware. I just ordered
45 JHP and not sure of the OAL

Re: Zero bullets
The bullets are .540” long.
I load to 1.2”
A lot of folks here run the 185 jhp for long line and the 185 swchp swaged for short line.

I would say you are correct...I measured 5 and they run .538 long. I have seated them to 1.224 so far but I could go deeper as I have not yet used a taper crimp on them. Thoughts?

Re: Zero bullets
1.2 is what I loaded the first time and it shot great, so I stuck with it.
I’ve not tried to tune it better because I can’t out shoot it at 50 anyway.
The magnus 185 swc with 4 of BE out shoots me.
One day I will do some testing and see what tweeks I can do to improve it, but have not got around to it.
Run a test and see if 1.2, 1.21, 1.22 etc tighten it up
Seems 4 to 4.4 of BE are the favored loads for it.

Re: Zero bullets
Both shot equally well with the same load in my guns.S148 wrote:Which 185 JHP? They make 2 different versions.
If it was a 1" gun, both shot an inch. If it was a 2" gun, both shot 2". Same powder charge, brass, primer & seating depth.

Re: Zero bullets
The #187 are the "conical" bullet. Similar to Nosler 185 JHP configuration.alashooter wrote:The box states 45 JHP # 187
Most load those in 1.200 +/1 OAL
The "other" Zero bullet in 185 JHP is #185. I have no OAL data for that one.

Re: Zero bullets
1.205" with 4.6gr Bullseye, Federal once fired brass, Winchester primer, .470 crimp. Gives me <2" groups with my guns.
