So I got a new target pistol and am wondering what each click of adjustment moves the shot impact. It is a match guns mg2. I would think all the European guns would be the same or close or am I wrong.

thanks

Whatever it is they most likely will be in mm, cm and m. There might be resources on youtube.

If Match guns follow the US adjustment in metric .. 1 click at 100yds equal 1 inch, 1click at 50yds equals 1/2 inch and 1click equals 1/4 inch at 25 yds.

1 click at 100 meters equals 24.5mm, 50 meters equals 12.2mm and at 25 meters equals 6.1mm

This is speculation on my part as I have shot European rifles quite a bit. However rifles are a different breed when it come to sights. There sights have finer adjustments' even down to 1/8 of an inch or less at 50 meters.

You in Iola?  I'm in College Station.  We have a good number of shooters nearby.  Come shoot the Houston match this weekend and the State championship next in Dallas.

Where do you shoot in Houston or BCS area? When? What course of fire?

I looked at the Matchguns MG2 instructions online and it is odd that the movement amount per sight adjustment is not mentioned as I have seen the amount stated in Feinwerkbau and Steyr manuals for their sight adjustments. The MG2 manual only states what direction the adjustments move the impact.

On a German shooting forum it sounds more like 8mm a click at 25m while my FWB AW93 claims 7mm: "accordingly with MG2eRF a ring width of 25mm so 3.2 click"

https://meisterschuetzen.org/forum/thread/9638-spopi-matchguns-mg2-vs-tesro-ts-22-3/?pageNo=1 (see also page 2)

I wonder how much use the sights hold up to as it sounds like in 25 Meter Standard Pistol Slow Fire is a sub-6 hold for precision and Timed/Rapid Fire is center hold. That's a lot of knob spinning.

Thanks I can go with that. I hate turn elevation knobs, seems like they never come back.

Houston is 4th Sundays at Bayou Rifles Addicks range.  On Eldridge Pky near I-10
Austin 3rd Sundays at Austin Rifle Club.  In Manor.
Dallas 1st Sundays at Dallas Pistol Club in Carrolton.

All run 2700's start time 9:00

The Texas State Championship is this coming weekend.  Friday is the Service Pistol part which is 100 shots.  Saturday and Sunday we will fire the 2700, team matches and 22 EIC, Distinguished Revolver, and Service Pistol EIC.  There is also an air pistol match which is by infiltration into the range.

Let me know if you have any questions at all.  I'd be glad to help.  Plus I've owned a MG2 before.

Most sights are in MOA (minute of angle) The actual movement of 1 minute at 100 yards is 1.047" or roughly 1" but it can't be 25.4mm at 100 meters. (25.4mm = 1.00") Actual movement of 1MOA at 100 meters is 29.089mm or 1.145" Not much difference. However the actual movement per click depends on the pitch of the adjustment screw. and the number of detentes. I'm thinking the sights were set-up to give a known movement at 50 yards such as 1" per click and metric sights in common numbers like 20, 18, 16mm at 50 meters. Being we are not robots small deviations will not matter.
I would bench my gun on sandbags and shoot a group at 25 yards, move the sights 20 clicks and shoot again. Divide by 20 and movement per click is known at 25 yards, simply double the amount for 50 yards.

Most european 22 target pistols are 7mm (AW93) or 8mm (Pardini) per click at 25 meters so expect about a bullet hole size POI move.
Most free pistols are same movement per click but at 50 meters.
