Well no practice on the rimfire range as someone firing either a HP rifle or a LARGE magnum pistol into the forward steel safety plates. Big holes. So sad especially as the range, even though in a moderately rural area there are farms, homes and active roads in the distance. The club has a dedicated centerfire rifle range to 300yards and a dedicated centerfire pistol range.

The jerks just wanted to make a big noise and shoot at steel plate and see if could shoot thru it. Which they certainly did.

So terrible.

And you wonder why ranges have "odd" rules?  Or they get shut down for someone else's stupidity?  Idiots are everywhere, and when their plans go awry, their actions affect everyone.  More than one facility I belonged to ended up installing security cameras at the ranges where most incidents occurred due to such activity.

So terrible.
So true.

Well as it stands, the 1800 that was going to happen Saturday is washed out. Missing the practice just has me do more dry firing at home over the weekend and do some extra pistol maintenance. Gonna wash that lead right outta those Smiths.

All it takes is one immature, selfish jerk to ruin it for everyone. It happens at all clubs, if that is any consolation. I remember an incident where something was repeatedly being shot and destroyed. After security cameras were installed, they caught the perp. It turned out to be a decades long member who was upset by something the club did that he wasn't happy with. I made a steel and concrete base for a Ransom Rest at a club I belonged to. After a few months some idiot went to a lot of trouble to tear it down and use the very heavy steel top to see if his 7.62x39 armor piercing ammo would penetrate it. Unfortunately it did instead of bouncing back and hitting the fool.

shame, aholes exist everywear. Our club has cameras on every range and this khelps control the Aholes and rule breakers. Very efficient deterrent. All are played back every day.
