Dedicated 22 pistol vs. 22 Conversion - what gun(s) will you be taking to Perry this year?
At the major bullseye matches in the USA, do any of the shooters compete with 22 Conversion guns?
I can see a benefit of shooting all three classes with a "1911 frame".
On the other hand, it seems logical that a gun specifically designed for 22 would have advantages over a conversion gun.
Then there's the trigger pull, which needs to be optimized for the class the gun is competing in.
It would be interesting if at the end of a major competition, a list was provided of what frames, sights, ammo, etc., each participant used.
Then there's reliability.
Another consideration might be cost.
Maybe I should just ask a different question - for each of you going to Perry this year, what gun(s) are you taking?
No need to explain, unless you want to.

A lot of conversions and hammerli among top shooters with one or two pardinis and AW93 sprinkled in. Conversions are more than capable

I personally will be using 4 guns. 2 Hammerli's ( 1 is a Trailside and the other an Xeese) both of which will have the CMM frame adapter with slabs to look and feel just like a 1911. One will have a red dot and the other irons for EIC. For CF and and 45 I will be using my Colt 1911 Government model with red dot and my other Government model with irons, again for the EIC. My Government models have slabs so all 4 of my guns have the exact same feel. My 1911's were my Dad's pistols which he built while gunsmithing at the Air Force marksmanship unit after his retirement from the Army marksmanship unit. This is a bucket list match for me to follow in his footsteps. As a side note my 2 1911's were manufactured in 1932 and are consecutive numbered!

This year was all about doing what I can to progress as fast as possible. I'm shooting the same lower for 22, CF, 45, and 22EIC. I do have a second 1911 for service pistol, but the feel is similar (slab grips, arched mainspring housing).

Not shooting all of Perry (possibly just 22 EIC and Trophy Matches, shall see what I can pull off) but am shooting Cardinal's 4 gun. I will be shooting a 5" Nelson conversion for the 22 900 and a 6" Nelson conversion for the 22 EIC.

For myself:
For the 900s I will be using my 5" nelson with muzzle weight and an Aimpoint 9000sc on top. This has a dedicated frame with a 2.5lb trigger. Also will be using the photoescape apeture rings on the wadgun and conversion as they both have the 9000sc.
For 22 EIC I will be using my Walther GSP expert. I also have a second upper for it with a 1" UD on it for backup.

5.5" Ruger MKII slab sides, 6 7/8" MKII for 22 EIC, 5" Nelson upper with a combo rib & dot for a backup.
