200 grain LSWC suggestions
I'm not convinced my casting ability is match worthy. So, I need to order some .452 200 grain LSWC's. Are any brands preferred among you folks?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Brazos https://www.brazosprecision.com/
Magnus https://www.magnusbullets.com/
There are others, but these people have treated me very well.

I use Zero 200 Gr LSWC which I found to be good and consistent. They might be swagged vs cast but I don't remember for sure.
I have used bullets from Terry at Magnus as well and his products are top notch too. I haven't used any of his 200 Gr so I am just going off his reputation and my experience with his 185s.
Brazos has a good following too although I think most of their offerings are coated.
All three companies are running pretty far behind on orders so that will be a challenge. I have ordered from both Magnus and Brazos during this ammo shortage and eventually got the orders but it took quite a while.
Good luck.

I've not shot any 200's from Brazos, yet. But once the last of my Magnus 802's are gone I'll be switching. Much cleaner to handle and load than a greased bullet. I've been quite happy in that regard with the 160's, and some 38 bullets I got from them.

I like both the Brazos and Zero. Haven't shot many of the 200s, but when I have they have shot well for me. I have shot quite a few of the Brazos coated 160s with great success and also can not say a bad thing about swaged lead. Both are quality.

"Are not the 802’s swaged"
I had to look. Magnus 802 is cast, swaged is 812. Both a clone of the H&G 68, I think.
I've also shot, and like, the 801 185 button nose (H&G 130). Although the 60's vintage slugs I have are heavier. Might just be the alloy. I have some from a friend, cast from an H&G mold, that are also well over 185 grains. He uses 20/1 alloy, not the typical Antimony alloys most commercial casters are using. Another nice looking bullet he has is a Lyman 452460.

Re: 200 grain LSWC suggestions
I use 200 grain Zero SWC’s for the short line. 3.4 grains of N310 and they hold a tight x ring at 25 yards. The felt recoil is less than the snappy 160’s and I think they are slightly softer than 185’s
I only use them for the short line normally but I do take some loaded with 4.4 on very windy days to help cut through the wind

Re: 200 grain LSWC suggestions
I like the Brazo's 200 gr Coated SWC sized .452". Loaded with 4.0 gr Bullseye, Mixed Brass, Win Primer, 1.240 oal .467 crimp, Kimber w/Kart Barrel, 25 yard group measured 1.20" for 9 shots, 10th shot called (pulled left) opended group to 2.20". This was with a Vortex Venom sight and rested on an MTM plastic pistol rest. I've read that coated bullets may not shoot as tight as uncoated lead/wax bullets but I'm very impressed with them. Very clean to handle and don't load up your dies with wax too. Steve

Precision Bullets makes a 200 gr swaged, coated .45 LSWC that is worth a try.

Another coated 200 SWC would be "DG Bullets".
All I've shot for the past few years, 45 and 9mm.

DG (damn good) bullets are good, but they are out of stock right now because of a bad batch of HiTek coating.
SNS Casting makes good 200gr. coated bullets, lube groove or no groove. In my experience, the weight is very consistent and the casting is uniform and smooth.

I've had good luck with Oregon Trail Bullet Company / LaserCast. https://oregontrailbullets.com/xcart/?target=product&product_id=68 They have a regular lube groove. I recently ordered some and was told they were 6-8 weeks behind on shipping but mine were actually sent 2-3 weeks. My past experience has been that weighing them doesn't show much variation but might recommend doing that as well as visual inspection if your intent is to use them for long line matches.

I have used the above and for the price Brazos are are the best and shoot as good as the Zero Swaged, and do not muck up my reloading equipment.

A High Master recently shared he uses Zero cast for short line and Zero
185JHP for the long.
He shoots better than I ever will so I just ordered some cast and already have a few thousand
of their 185 JHP.
I placed a thousand of their 38 HBWC on back order and will shoot them for short line.

Pretty much any decent .45 ACP bullet will hold the 10 ring at 25 yards. Nosler and Zero 185 gr. JHP shoot extremely well at 50 as long as the load is appropriate and the gun is up to snuff.
