Re: High Standard Pistols
In the '70's I called a good share of our club's 2700's. 12 firing points, 2 relays I had plenty of time during scoring so I counted the .22's makes used. Usually 10 HS's and 1 or 2 Smiths. Maybe a Ruger or Browning would show up. A few of the HS's would be customs by Clark or Giles.
Those were the days my friends, we thought (hoped) they'd never end.

Re: High Standard Pistols
Coincidentally I stopped by an LGS that I had not visited yet, they had a very nice Hamden c1969 Victor in the $650 range, with one mag. Pistol appeared to be in excellent condition, did not check the bore, mag had signs of being inserted about what you’d expect for the vintage. Felt nice in the hand with the proper grip angle!

Re: High Standard Pistols
I'm on the market for Barrel Weight for 5 1/2" Victor's barrel. The square one. Current production by Interarms is out of consideration. Looking for OEM. Do you by chance have it?
Thanks,
AP

Do you service old pistols? Specifically a 1972 M107 in need of a trigger job.alaronstein wrote:I am President of High Standard Firearms USA in Houston TX. Re: High Standard Pistols
The gunsmiths that work on the High Standard Pistols in Houston were trained by Bob Shea. Bob was a Master gunsmith. He worked at the CT plant from 1942 to 1984, and he worked for HS Houston for 20 years before his retirement in 2013. The Houston Gunsmiths all have from 25 to 28 years experience with the HS pistols. We can completely rebuild anything on the pistols. We also mfgr the parts for them. You can call me @ 713-476-0888 for more info.- Alan Aronstein

Re: High Standard Pistols
Well, there appear indeed to be two companies, which offer newly-built High Standard pistols and even use the same company logo...
One is the OP of this thread - High Standard of Montana:
https://www.highstandardofmt.com
The other is Alan Aronstein's company in Texas:
https://highstandardfirearmsusa.com
Both companies advertise themselves as manufacturers of the High Standard Pistols.
In my humble opinion, this is a welcome development to the shooters who enjoy High Standard pistols.

Re: High Standard Pistols
We at High Standard here in Montana are not out to try to compete with Mr. Aronstein's company. We wish him all of the success. We just want to build quality products and we have the experience to do so. Our customer's who have bought from us have been extremely happy with the performance of our products.
If we cannot provide something for someone, we would willingly steer them to Mr. Aronstein's company.
I do not know Mr. Aronstein. I know he has been in the gun industry a very long time. If you are more comfortable with purchasing from his company, then by all means. We do not wish ill will on him or his company.
All of that aside, Happy Shooting everyone!
