High Standard
I have a 1980 East Hartford made Victor ML 677-- (according to Mr. Stimson's data.) When I got it about 30 years ago it the barrel on it was marked New Haven on the right side. I haven't found any info on the New Haven aspect of High Standard. So, here is my question.
Where the barrels made in New Haven while the frames were made in East Hartford?
I have eight other Victors, Trophy, Citation and Sharpshooter pistols from 1959 103 Space guns, a 104 Sharpshooter, 107s, MLs, etc up to 1975. They all work out by Mr. Stimson's data to be Hamden guns according to the frame serial numbers, and all the barrels are marked Hamden. So, they all appear to be original barrels to the frames.
My only odd one is the East Hartford pistol and I'm just trying to reconcile the East Hartford/New Haven issue/question.
Any info would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Fitz

Re: High Standard
HS as a company started in New Haven, CT in 1926.
Please read this article, - TINCANBANDIT's Gunsmithing: Firearm Factory of the Month: High Standard Manufacturing
If I understand correctly, New Haven and Hamden are two bordering each other town, and HS had post addresses in both.

Did you buy it new or used? If used, it's possible the barrel was swapped.

The remarks from HSWayne and especially Alan Aronstein are pretty authoritative. You can reach Alan Aronstein at Interarms. https://interarmstx.com/product-category/high-standard-vintage/
