Narrow down 9mm load options for 1:10 CZ
I am working on a load for my CZ Shadow 2. I am getting about 3 inch groups at 25 yards with 2.9 HP38 and 125 MBC Hi-Tek SWC. I'd like to cut that down. I'm shooting from a bench, but no sandbags or ransom rest.
I have 124 MBC Small Ball RN, 124 XTP JHP, 125 MBC SWC, 125 HAP JHP, Acme 147 FP, and RMR 147 RN FMJ. MBC and Acme are both coated.
I have Clays, HP38/Win231, 700x, WSF, and Tightgroup.
I've read a lot of information and sounds like the 1:10 prefers the heavy bullets and fast powders. I like the holes from the SWC and recoil is crazy managible.

Try 4.4-4.7 WSF with Jacketed and 4.0-4.4 WSF with lead. I load CFEPistol at 5.3 with a 115 and it shoots well enough. WSF is just a pinch faster so it should do OK.

124GR XTP WITH 5.0GR WSF IS A GREAT 9MM LOAD. 147GR RMR WITH 4.0GR WSF, IS GOOD ALSO. JP

I forgot to inclue that I also have 125 HAP. I assume I could load the HAP the same as the XTP as they are almost the same bullet.JIMPGOV wrote:124GR XTP WITH 5.0GR WSF IS A GREAT 9MM LOAD. 147GR RMR WITH 4.0GR WSF, IS GOOD ALSO. JP
WSF seems like the consensus so far here. I'll load up some different bullets with a few loads of that and see what results I come up with. It's good to narrow down all the options to get a starting point.

4.0 WSF with 145 lead or 147 JHP absolutely drills the long line and is clean. I use that load in all 1:10 and even 1:16 barrels. Fantastic in carbines as well like my Skorpion EVO.
