Re: Something’s missing here..
Len, am I reading the notes correctly- 115 Hornady XTP over 6.4 gr power pistol? I’ve never used it. I have a -1 that was priced at a point that I had to buy it. Have shot it very little. I load 124gr JRN Montana Gold with WSF (4.7 gr if I am remembering- haven’t loaded any in a while).

Yep. 6.4gr of Power Pistol. I'm using Zero bullets now. Between HAP, XTP and Zero the only deciding factor for me is availability.

What you are missing is a heavy barrel, K-frame PPC gun. They are so fun to shoot, look ridiculous, you can’t go wrong.

Jason,
I'm happy to see this tread. But for totally different reason........ With that said, I can list several S&W things and compliment it with pictures (like M10-Clark PPC, M586-M Silhouette, M14-4 (yes there was a limited number of such),5,6,7 Full Lug, M17-6 Full Lug, 952-1 / 5", 952-2 / 6" and its predecessors M39 and M59, M27 & M28-2 Highway Patrolman, M14-4 8 3/8" , etc.) that are not mentioned (except 952s).
However leaving aside hardware, you are not missing anything. As long as ammo works, you are capable to make good with anything that gets in your hand! So, from where I stand, IMHO - you have it all!

Model 10 or Model 15 would be fun for service pistol matches. The 1917s are cool too.

Re: Something’s missing here..
This has been fun but I was looking for a 45 cal auto from S&W for Bullseye that might have fit the time period for a (then) current production model 52. As it appears, anyone back then competing with a 41, or 52 likely had 1911 in 45 built by someone else. So a modified colt perhaps, or scratch build. So it seems my S&W bullseye pistol collection is more or less complete save the target revolver in .32 cal.

Re: Something’s missing here..
If your criteria is a “1955-1980 Era” Smith fan bullseye shooter, then yes he/she would have had a 45 1911. Either as a EIC “Hardball” gun or perhaps a wadgun. But, the 645 and 745 were built in the 1986-1990 timeframe when the 52 was also produced. But by that time the market had shifted to IPSC and what became IDPA/USPSA. Now from the photo on my post, the 745 is “Bullseye” accurate (kinda-sorta/ish) s they were “accurized” like a 52 (kinda-sorta/ish). They didn’t make many and are relatively uncommon.
If I were looking for a S&W 45 Auto for bullseye today AND wanting a 52 feel, I’d look really hard at/for a 845. I wouldn’t expect it to hold x ring at 25 yards like a top level wadgun 1911, but I’d expect to turn in 99s regularly.
