Numrich 52-2 Reproduction Extractor ...
Hello
New to the group, and was fortunate to find a very nice 52-2 at a local gun show only days after my first ever exposure to one! She came home pretty much ready to roll, with UltraDot 1" dot sight, Wilson Combat frame mounted rail, and 2 magazines with the metal followers. After sighting in (previous owner had sight mounted incorrectly) was getting clover leave prints from a rest @ 25 yards.
In the first 50 rounds, on 2 occasions had a Failure to Eject ... There could be several issues, but just in case it requires a replacement extractor, I see that Numrich has a reproduction one available now, with factory pivot pin (but no springs)
Anybody have:
1. An idea what the most common cause of FTE is? (I think I heard about dirt under the extractor channel or ?)
2. If it's the extractor, I have access to an original but kind of spendy, I wonder if, for 1/3 the price of the original, if their reproduction is a quality part.
3. A source of a compatible spring if that is what is needed???
I'll be shooting again tomorrow, paying closer to attention to which magazine I am using, and since the ammo is all reloads (both mine and a very experienced 52-2 shooter) we'll look at the cases etc. in case it happens again.
Thanks
-Kevin

Oil the shells; mobil 1 is super slippery.
Make sure the chamber is clean, they can build up fast.
Check for increased pressure from barrel leading.
What ammo did you use? They prefer HBWC bullets
Good luck

Hi Bruce
My 'coach' did put a drop on a round and ran it through ... we were using HBWC (I loaded some Hornady frontier 148gr HBWC over 3.0 Gr of Universal. I had no trouble with those, my 'coach' I think loads Bullseye.
We will check it out today again with both loads, I'll clean chamber well and keep an eye on barrel leading.
Thanks and stay tuned!

Another range trip and using both magazines, only an initial FTF but then ran flawlessly after that ... so, will just continue to keep it clean, well lubed and shoot on! Just a teeny (I mean teeny) amount of leading just off the chamber.
Thanks for the tips, doesn't appear I need an extractor for now.
