What magazines are you guys using??  I have some springfield armory mags and the followers are getting stuck. They are not pushing the rounds up. Causing malfunctions.

I swapped out the followers in my springfield mags. Never liked them much.

I have used magazines from every major manufacturer since 1981 and my favorites are Checkmate.  I have ~50 of them now and prefer them over Wilson, Tripp, and McCormick.  However, Checkmate's QC is not the best and from time to time I've had problems with specific mags.  Years ago I got fed up and set out to discover what was causing these problems.  Once I figured it out I did a simple tweak to the problem mags and they've been perfect ever since.

Here are a bunch of disjointed posts on my musings concerning Checkmate mags that may help you.

Sounds like they need to be cleaned. I use a combination of Springfield, Wilson, and Metalform mags depending on the gun. I try to keep oil away from the mags as it will accelerate the collection of dirt and dust.

Metalform all the way. I run them dry. Never an issue.

My Springfield Armory 1911 came with Checkmate mags a few years ago. I've had good luck with them, but the floorplate is not removable so cleaning is a one-way affair. Also the tapped hole in the floorplate has a very odd diameter, somewhere between 4-40 and 5-40, so it has been tricky to add a bumper.

Until the welded base pops off in the middle of a RF string. Ask me how I know lol. I now only use Wilson mags with removable bottoms, stronger and easier to clean.

I had the bottom plates dump out at 2 matches, I called Metalform and they sent me their removable bottom mags at no cost. The old ones I tig welded back on and they work perfectly and reliably.
