Matchdot II sticking
I have a new Ultradot Matchdot II.
I am having trouble with it not taking elevation adjustments and then after a few shots the adjustment jumps in.
For those of you that have these is the Matchdot II like some scopes you have to tap on to get them to settle in?
Or does it just need to wear in a little and once the new has worn off it will be just fine?
Thanks .. K

Never heard of tapping a scope to "settle them in".
It could be quite possible that it needs sent back. I would check these things first.
-Make sure scope mount and rings are tight.
-Shoot it from sandbags to make sure you aren't the issue.
-Mark the adjustment knobs with a paint marker to see if they are actually moving.
-Are you shooting reloads? Perhaps it is the ammo?

Re: Matchdot II sticking
We have already verified it is the scope sticking
Once the scope settled in. I shot perfect strings.
The loads are target reloads I did myself
The brass was new, each bullet was individually weighed as well as each charge.
Tapping on a scope is very common in long range 600 to 1000 yard , so called,
sniper matches. You are changing the scope constantly and some scope you have
to tap on. some you don't. My wife has a Leupold scope that has got her several
ribbons. The glass is fantastic and in works like a charm. But it sticks so I made
her up a little plastic tapper.

Re: Matchdot II sticking
I have 6 UltraDots with only one being the MatchDot. I have the same problem with my Match dot as you do, the other 5 work perfectly fine.
Mine "sticks" too but will settle in after a few shots and other than being annoying as all he!! it does work as long as I don't change settings in a match. I have to take some practice shots when making adjustments so it can "settle in ". When I first got this MatchDot it drove me nuts and I thought it was me but after a while I figured it out and it was the MatchDot. Tapping this MatchDot didn't seem to help much for whatever reason. Seems like the adjustments get caught in no mans land in between the adjustments and if I only moved it one click I had a 50/50 chance it would fall back to the adjustment I had just moved it from. I have since retired this MatchDot and replaced it with a standard 30mm UltraDot and I no longer have to play the guessing game of "is it the scope or me".
As far as tapping scopes to settle them in, I thought this was standard practice for rifle scopes. I know I do that with mine all the time.

I don't tap on them and I have the same problem. I found that what I do on my rifle scope works for the matchdots also. If I have to move the scope one click I move it 3 and back 2. If you have to move it 5 clicks then move it 7 and back 2. etc etc. This seems to work well for me.
