45 Load WST
Hello Folks,
Do any of you hard holders have a 45 ACP load for WST powder, with the Zero 200 gr swaged bullet and Federal primers? I'm using R-P and Winchester cases (sorted).
Thanks, Tom

Also depends on how tight your pistol is and how heavy a dot you run. You might get by with less than 4.2, I would load 10 each of 3.8, 4.0 and 4.2 to see how they run.

Re: 45 Load WST
The upper target was shot with the S&W745 shown (not a bullseye gun) with 452AA which was the predecessor of WST. The loads were 3.8, 4.0 and 4.2 and were leftover chronographing loads. Bullet was 185 Cast and swaged. The bottom target was the same but with Bullseye powder. Not a Nickles difference between them. The shots outside the groups were called. For WST I’d load 25 of each of 3.8, 4.0, 4.2, and 4,4 and see which shoots the best blob. Load up a bunch and shoot the hell out of them.

Re: 45 Load WST
My 50yd load is Zero 185 LSWCHP over 4.6gr WST. Gives me less than 2". Then use the same load with 160gr Valiants for the short line.

Re: 45 Load WST
3.9 - 4.1 WST yields +/- 2" at 50 yds from three of my guns using 180, 185 or 200 grain lead or Hi tek coated bullets. I find 200 gr with 4.0 gr WST the combo I shoot the best.
