My uncle Ray Bickar passed away peacefully this past Wednesday. He was an active bullseye shooter from the 1960s through the 2000s, a Distinguished Pistol Shot, and a member of the 2600 Club. He was a brother, husband, father, and grandfather.

We are diminished.

I remember your Uncle Ray from attending an Ohio State Indoor Champs in something like '71 or '72. It seems that he at least had one of the better scores in the match. Did he move from the Canton area soon after?
For some time I  had your Dad confused w/ him.

Some pretty good genes!

There were 3 of us Oak Harbor shooters at that match, Jim Leonardson, a HS Junior was one. At that age he won the Expert class.

Sorry for your loss, John

I just received a drag racing magazine that had an article about a well known racing clutch manufacturer named John Norcia who passed away in Feb. He was from Canton. The article said he had a partner, Ray Bickar. Reading your uncle's obituary, I see he worked at RAM manufacturing...small world.

He moved to SC in 1983. He started shooting earlier than my dad did, in the ‘60s, then took time off to raise a family and build a career.

I think I’ve heard of that Lenardson kid.
