Excellent ISSF Rapid Fire Video
Video is from 2011. Footage shows great views of shooters firing five shot strings. If you watch close enough you can tell which shots are misses from the cadence and watching the competitors faces. Commentary with Gary Anderson. Was shot at Munichs 1972 Olympic range.
Match Gun pistols took 1st & 2nd place over Pardini.
The 1st place shooter was using electronic trigger and had the barrel shroud with 4 spring piston plungers that absorbs the impact of the slide going back into battery. I’ve seen hi-speed camera footage that shows slides bouncing out of battery when slide breechface hits the barrel. Interesting concept.
2nd place shooter was using mechanical trigger and standard barrel shroud.
These Rapid Fire pistols have lightened slides as well.

Is there any place in the US where one could try that?

One of my favorite sports to watch. Wish they'd stop screwing with rules and format. Would be awesome to try some time.

Shot this at the New York State Empire Games in 2010. Did terrible, but hey- I'm a Precision Pistol guy! Quickly swinging a pistol at multiple targets is not my thing!
Didn't watch the whole video, but in practice, the 5-shot strings are fired in 3 time limits- 8 seconds, 6 seconds, and 4 (yes-4!) seconds. That's from gun down position too.

I know Ed Hall has it on his Star reloaders site but does anyone else have a link to the USAMU EIC rapid fire 9 mm video filmed through the shooters eyes?. It didn't seem to come up on YouTube
It shows both the sights and a target close up

If you mean the 35 second video of supposedly Adam with the Beretta, I have it downloaded as an MPG file. I don't know if it will attach to an email properly, but we could try.

Jack, I didn't know that was Sokolowski, that is a really good video. It makes you feel like there's a lot of time to recover sight and pull trigger, very impressive.Jack H wrote:If you mean the 35 second video of supposedly Adam with the Beretta, I have it downloaded as an MPG file. That video makes me want to shoot Rapid Fire again. Too bad there's no place to practice around here. And very few matches in the entire country anymore.
Do they still have the "new" shootoff procedure, or did they change it again?
