Accurate #2
I use Alliant Bullseye in the vast majority of my pistol loads. I am pretty flush right now, but with things the way they are, I haven't seen any for sale in a very long time. I like planning ahead and have noticed that Accurate #2 seems to be available pretty steadily and the prices aren't through the roof. I haven't seen or heard of anyone using Accurate #2 for .45 ACP or .38 SPL loads for serious competitive shooting. Is there a reason that Accurate #2 isn't mentioned as a powder for bullseye shooting?

#2 is in the same group as 231, HP-38 and Bullseye.

Yes, and it is a ball powder, making it easy and accurate to use in a powder measure.dannyd93140 wrote:#2 is in the same group as 231, HP-38 and Bullseye.

Several of the powder retailers online had BE last week, probably still around.
Target Sports had lots of primers in stock and lower prices than last week.

Re: Accurate #2
Accurate #2 sells for around $28.00 + change per pound. That makes it very attractive, but apparently nobody here is using it for match loads. There must be a good reason.

It's inertia Mike. We're a conservative bunch (small 'c') because we know how long it takes to get competent in the first place - why change anything. With the exception of people like Dave (fc60) of course - if he ever gets into black powder guns I'm convinced he'll be making his own powder :-)

You are right, but bullseye pistol shooters are also some of the tightest people I know. I figure the cost difference might attract them! I know at one time Clays and Solo 1000 were popular with some bullseye pistol shooters.straybrit wrote:It's inertia Mike.
