Yeah, I know, but they are not mine, it's what my friend has, but I might just give him a set of Aimpoints, I have a few spare ones.

I use the same kind of mount on my Model 52. It works alright as far as I can tell. I don’t shoot my 52 competitively, so I wanted a mount that didn’t require me to drill holes in my gun.

Does it just slide in the dovetail? Seems like not enough gripping area for that long mount? Maybe it works great?

It slides in the dovetail and there are five set screws that secure it in the position and allow adjusting the angle so that it's in line with the bore axis. Then there's a single nylon-tipped set screw on the opposite side, to ensure it doesn't deflect under the weight of the red dot.
