Picked up a nice 1970 Clark 1911 wad gun today
So, I had to buy a 1911 and a Hammerli 120 Free Pistol today. The Clark is a first year production series 70, 1911 that went directly to Clark and became a wadgun in August of 1970, it is in really nice condition, low miles and had the original Herretts on it. I cleaned it today and will test fire it tomorrow. Now to find a set of left handed Herretts for it.
Also purchased a really nice early 1970's Hammerli 120 that is in dire need to some left handed grips so it can be put into use this winter in the occasional free pistol matches. In the original box with long decaying foam, original tool kit, cleaning rod, owners manual and test target. The thing hammers and it will be fun shooting it.
I wish there was more, I'm just excited for a range trip and had no one to talk too about it, haha.

That's a great haul! I'm left handed too and yeah it can be hard finding a set of used grips at a decent price. I too am interested in trying free pistol one day but haven't made that plunge yet. It seems to be a great complement to air pistol and slow fire stages of bullseye.

Andrew Berryhill is working on grips for me, the test set is arriving soon. I'm pretty excited to try the gun using the correct left hand, haha.
I am going to have to find new homes for the Clark and Giles wad guns in my collection. I've noticed I have a bit more in the wad guns than I'll ever shoot.
