3.4 Bullseye equivalent to other powders
I am fifteen months from open heart surgery Dr said I could shoot my 45 if I could calm it down some.
Been shooting 22 for about ten months and my 52-2 for about three.
About a month before surgery I loaded some with 3.4 Both my 45's did function.
I have a limited amount of Bullseye but plenty of Clays, Tightgroup,WST,#231 & Unique.
Both guns have 18Lb hammer springs. one with 10Lb recoil other 13Lb radius firing pin stops.
I would like some suggestion as the best combo for me.
Sorry for the long post.

PS this will only be 50" and 75"and not in matches.

WST is my favorite. Add a tenth or two to what you used in BE.

3.4 Equivalent
I found 4.5gr of 231 works fine with 200gr JHP, a little smokey. The 10# spring is pretty light, I have 14# and get good cycling.
The light loads in 231 are not as clean as some, so I have heard.

Try 4.2grs WST under the 185gr Stars crimp .469" and see how they feel to you.
3.8grs of Clays under the same bullet and same crimp.
The Clays is faster than the WST so it might work better for you with reduced loads.

3.4 Bullseye equivalent
Thanks all
I will answer in order of reply
(1) Zane I loaded some 200's with 3.6 WST (also my favorite in my 52-2 & my #1 45
rain came before I could test.
(2) jglenn21 Jimmy 3.5 of tightgroup was spot on. Had to go to .463 crimp
(3) fc60 My children don't want me to spend any more of thier future money.
At age 84 I don't if would be a wise investment for me (but who knows might win the lottery)
(4) Boscoe The 10 pound 45 has Accurails that had the very minimum slide clearance 12 -15 years ago
and still does.
(5) Roger that is the exact load I shoot with my Stars. I have a lot of 200's I got when I bought some who retired
MANY THANKS ALL

Re: 3.4 Bullseye equivalent to other powders
We are shooting 50 ft indoor now. I have gotten my load down to 3.5 of WST with very good results. 200 gr LSWC. I really like this powder.
