22/45 barrel Empty 22/45 barrel

Post by 285wannab 11/10/2022, 9:19 am

I want to cut down a 5.5" barrel on 22/45.  The reason being is better balance and weight reduction.  I have cut them before to 4.5".
This time I wanted to try cutting it to 4".  My question is woud I be losing accuracy because the 22 lr would not be spinning long enough in the barrel?

I have a 4” barreled HS that shoots great. Go for it!

It's all about the new crown. My Benelli has a 4-inch barrel, and shoots great all the way out.

The gun may get a bit more sensitive to the ammo choice. If you're not going to shoot it at 50yd, that might be a little more forgiving, too.

It shot good with CCI/SV so I'm hoping that won't change.  I know one thing for sure it will be lighter.
